Eligibility
- Refund requests must be made within 7 days of your initial subscription purchase.
- The 7-day window starts from the date of your first payment, not from when you created your account.
- This policy applies to both monthly ($29/mo) and annual ($249/yr) subscriptions.
- Only the first payment is eligible for a refund. Subsequent renewal charges are not refundable, but you can cancel anytime to prevent future charges.
How to Request a Refund
- Email us at hello@cortexfreelancer.com with the subject line "Refund Request".
- Include the email address you used to subscribe.
- That's it — no lengthy forms, no hoops to jump through.
Processing Time
- We process refund requests within 1-2 business days of receiving your email.
- Once processed, the refund will appear on your statement within 5-10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method used at checkout.
What Happens to Your Pro Access
- Once a refund is processed, your account will be immediately downgraded to the Free plan.
- You will lose access to Pro features including unlimited analyses, PDF exports, the AI proposal writer, and premium templates.
- Any data you created (invoices, proposals, analyses) will remain accessible in read-only mode.
- You can re-subscribe to Pro at any time from the pricing page.
Cancellations (No Refund)
If you're outside the 7-day refund window but want to stop being charged:
- Cancel your subscription from the Manage Subscription link on your dashboard or pricing page.
- Your Pro access continues until the end of your current billing period.
- No further charges will be made after cancellation.
Exceptions
We reserve the right to deny refund requests in cases of:
- Abuse of the refund policy (e.g., repeated subscribe-refund cycles).
- Violation of our Terms of Service.
